Under General George Washington’s command; Battle of Brandywine Creek in September 1777, Battle of Germantown, winter quarters at Valley Forge in 1777. When he was inaccurately listed as a deserter, he was in a military hospital close to Valley Forge. When released, he returned to the Valley Forge Camp on June 1778 and received no punishment.
