MARION COX BY SUE ANN FISHER HENLEY: “He served in the war from Dec. 24, 1863-Aug 3, 1865 in the West Virginia Vet. (Veterans) Volunteer Infantry in Company K. He was a Private under Lieut. Wm. B. Ziegler. Marion was wounded at the Battle of Winchester, Virginia on September 19, 1864. He was honorable discharged at Philadelphia, Penn. On Aug 6, 1865. He had impaired use of his left thigh in consequence of the severe gunshot wound, a ball entered middle part of the middle thigh and was excised.”
