McCOY, CLARENCE (1927 - 2020), UNITED STATES ARMY, STATIONED IN GERMANY, KOREAN WAR.
HOMETOWN:  Toler, Pike County, Kentucky, USA.
OTHER RESIDENCE:  Marietta, Washington County, Ohio.  Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky.  Hardy, Pike County, Kentucky.
DATE OF BIRTH:  13 October 1927 in Toler, Pike County, Kentucky.
PARENTS:  Marinda Stanley and Helix McCoy.
GRANDPARENTS:  Margarete “Martha” May and George Fleming Stanley.
GRANDPARENTS:  Louisa Visa Stafford and Elliott Alexander “Doc” McCoy.
GREAT-GRANDPARENTS:  Lucinda Williamson and William I. May, Union Army Soldier, American Civil War.
THIRD-GREAT-GRANDPARENTS:  Priscilla Coburn and Reuben Rutherford I, Soldier in The Frontier Wars.
FOURTH-GREAT-GRANDPARENTS:  Elizabeth King and James May, who was tried at The Old Bailey Court in London, England, convicted of being a thief of trinkets, sentenced to seven years of servitude, jailed, placed on the British prison hulk, JUSTITIA, sailed west toward the American Colonies and arrived in Leedstown, Westmoreland County, Virginia on 25 February 1772.  He was pressed into service in the British Army.  After being captured by opposing forces, did he swear an oath of loyalty to the rebellious thirteen colonies?   Did he serve in the Continental Army?  As a British convict, he could never return to England.  Circa 1831, James May was living in Pike County, Kentucky.

FOURTH-GREAT-GRANDPARENTS:  Sarah Elizabeth Chitwood and Henry Farley, American Revolutionary War Soldier.
FOURTH-GREAT-GRANDPARENTS:  Susannah Hamilton and Micajah Frazier, and American Revolutionary War Soldier.
FIFTH-GREAT-GRANDPARENTS:  Isabelle Thompson and Alden Williamson, American Revolutionary War Soldier.  Their son, Richard Williamson married Mary Jane “Jenny” Wiley, who was the daughter of Thomas Wiley, an American Revolutionary War Soldier and Virginia Jean “Jenny” Sellards, a famous pioneer, who had a Kentucky State Park named in her honor in 1954.
FIFTH-GREAT-GRANDPARENTS:  Judith Clay, (who was a first cousin once removed to Henry Clay, a  Kentucky Statesman, “The Great Compromiser”)  and Thomas Farley, an American Revolutionary War Soldier.
FIFTH-GREAT-GRANDPARENTS:  Ann Nancy Brashear and Moses Ball, who was a second cousin to the First United States President, George Washington, Commanding General of the Continental Army, American Revolutionary War.
NINTH-GREAT-GRANDPARENTS:  Mary Richford and Benjamin Brashear, French Huguenot Protestant Immigrant.
SPOUSE:  Wilma Joyce “Billie” Varney.

STATIONS:  Fort Knox, Fort Benning, Glenhausen, Germany.
JOB DESCRIPTION:  MOS Carpenter.  The Service Company organized supplies of everything needed, from food and fuel to trucks and care of deceased soldiers for the regiment.  Clarence McCoy’s carpenter skills were used to assist in the rebuilding of Germany, while guarding the Iron Curtain during the Cold War at the same time of the Korean "Conflict" War.

COMBAT ORGANIZATION:  Service Company, 12th Regiment, 4th Infantry, U. S. Army, Stationed in Germany during the Korean War.
